Made by Hand opens on Friday at 10am at City Hall, Cardiff

Made by Hand, Cardiff is finally here! You can meet and buy from 150 of the finest makers from across the UK at Made by Hand. You will find a handpicked collection of handmade craft including ceramics, textiles, jewellery, glass, prints, furniture, leather, paper, iron & metal work, mixed media and wood. 
Our shopping extravanganza is complimented by a host of workshops for all ages, craft demonstrations, Pottery Throwdown, live music, as well as our Made by Hand Cafe.

THE POTTERY SHOWDOWN IS BACK IN CARDIFF

The Pottery Showdown will return to Cardiff tomorrow. Stars from the hit BBC series, The Great Pottery Throwdown will be going head-to-head with members of the public in rounds of fun clay-based challenges, set by judge Billy Adams. 

Stars of Season 2 & 1 will be joining us in City Hall. 'Major Tom', Clover Lee, Richard Parker and Elaine Wells will take on our challengers (that could be YOU!)  throughout the weekend. It's lots of playful fun and you'll have as much help as you'd like.

MASTERCLASS WITH POTTER, JIN EUI KIM

Jin Eui Kim is an internationally renowned ceramic artist, originally from South Korea, he now lives with his family in Cardiff. We are honoured that he is giving a masterclass at Made by Hand. 

Whilst at Cardiff School of Art & Design Jin studied the illusory effects of the application of tonal bands to three-dimensional surfaces. He graduated with a MA and PhD in Ceramics. He has won multiple national awards for his work and is a member of Contemporary Applied Art (CAA) and the Craft Potters Association (CPA). 

This Masterclass is a complimentary event on Friday November 3rd, which is held in the Council Chamber, City Hall. You must purchase a ticket to the event to gain entry. CLICK TO BOOK

TALK WITH TEXTILE ARTIST, JANET BOLTON

Janet Bolton is one of the UK's most respected living textile artists. She has exhibited her textiles worldwide, runnning workshops across the globe. Her work can be found in public and private collections and numerous books have been published about her work. 

We are delighted that she will be giving a talk and running a workshop at Made by Hand. Her workshop is on Saturday and talk on Sunday Please CLICK HERE for details.

There is plenty of half term fun for our young visitors with free craft workshops provided by Llantarnam Grange Arts Centre and Kings Monkton School throughout the weekend.
